Potentia is a rapid-growth company focused on the development of new therapeutics for chronic inflammatory diseases, in particular age-related macular degeneration (AMD).

The past ten years have seen the successful introduction of drugs that inhibit choroidal neovascularization, a terrible but fortunately rare (10-15% of patients) complication of AMD. While we can thus avoid the worse outcomes of the disease, an approach to prevent vision loss altogether has yet to be developed. Potentia hopes to contribute to the ultimate goal of making AMD a preventable disease.
