Potentia Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is an early stage biotechnology company focused on developing novel therapeutics and drug delivery technologies to address chronic inflammatory diseases, with an initial emphasis on diseases of the eye such as age-related macular degeneration.

Potentia was incorporated in 2001, based on a novel technology invented by its co-founders and a business plan that won two high-profile business plan competitions, including the 2001 Harvard Business School's Business Plan Competition.

In April 2003, with start-up capital raised from private investors and matched in part by the University of Louisville , Potentia commenced full-scale operations.
